Narrated 'Aisha: (the mother of the faithful believers) Al-Harith bin Hisham asked Allah's Apostle "O Allah's Apostle! How is the Divine Inspiration revealed to you?" Allah's Apostle replied, "Sometimes it is (revealed) like the ringing of a bell, this form of Inspiration is the hardest of all and then this state passes ' off after I have grasped what is inspired. Sometimes the Angel comes in the form of a man and talks to me and I grasp whatever he says." 'Aisha added: Verily I saw the Prophet being inspired Divinely on a very cold day and noticed the Sweat dropping from his forehead (as the Inspiration was over).
Hadhrat Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) says:
"After the passing away of the Prophet (peace be upon him), I said to an Ansari friend of mine: 'The Prophet is not now with us. But a large number of Sahabah are still among us. Let us go to them and get knowledge of the Islamic practices.' He said: ' Who is going to approach you for learning a regulation in the presence of these eminent Sahabah?' I was not discouraged. I kept up my quest for knowledge and approached every person who was supposed to have heard something from the Prophet. I managed to gather substantial information from the Ansar. If on my visit to someone of the Sahabah, I found him asleep, I spread my shawl at the gate and sat waiting. Sometimes my face and body would get covered with dust, but I kept sitting till they woke and I was able to contact them. Some of them said: 'Abdullah you are the cousin of the Prophet; you could have sent for us. Why did you take the trouble of coming to our places?' I said to them: 'I must come to you, for I am a student and you are my teachers.' Some people for whom I had waited said: 'Since when have you been waiting for us?' I informed them that I had been sitting there for a pretty long time. They said: 'What a pity! You could have awakened us from our sleep.' I said: 'I did not like to disturb you for my own sake.' I thus carried on my pursuits, till there came a time when people began to flock to me for learning. My Ansari friend realized this at that time and remarked: 'This boy has surely proved himself more sensible than us.'"

Qiyamah will come when...
Hadhrat Abu Musa Ash'ari (R.A.) narrates that Rasulallah (Sallallahu Alayhii Wassallam) said, "Qiyamah will come...
The bactericide (bacteria-killing) property of honey is named "the inhibition effect". Experiments conducted on honey show that its bactericide properties increase twofold when diluted with water. It is very interesting to note that newly born bees in the colony are nourished with diluted honey by the bees responsible for their supervision - as if they know this feature of the honey.
When a flower has already been visited, the honeybee can understand that another bee has earlier consumed the nectar of that flower, and leave the flower immediately. This way, it saves both time and energy. Well, how does the bee understand, without checking the flower, that the nectar has earlier been consumed? This is made possible because the bees which visited the flower earlier marked it by leaving a drop on it with a special scent. Whenever a new bee looks in on the same flower, it smells the scent and understands that the flower is of no use and so goes on towards another flower. Thus, bees do not waste time on the same flower.
Honeybees are one of science's great mysteries because they have remained unchanged for 20 million years. That is a big blow to the evolutionists.
Signs of Allah in Solar System
The earth rotates on its axis at one thousand miles an hour; if it turned at one hundred miles an hour, our days and nights would be ten times as long as now, and the hot sun would then burn up our vegetation during each long day, while in the long night any surviving sprout would freeze.
Again, the sun, source of our life, has a surface temperature of 12,000 degrees Fahrenheit, and our earth is, just far enough away so that this 'eternal fire" warms us just enough and not too much! If the sun gave off only one-half its present radiation, we would freeze, and if it gave half as much more, we would roast.
The slant of the earth, tilted at an angle of 23 degrees, gives us our seasons; if it had not been so tilted, vapours from the ocean would move north and south, piling up for us continents of ice. If our moon was, say, only 50 thousand miles away instead of its actual distance, our tides would be so enormous that twice a day all continents would be submerged; even the mountains would soon be eroded away.
If the crust of the earth had been only ten feet thicker, there would be no oxygen without which animal life must die. Had the ocean been a few feet deeper, carbon dioxide and oxygen would have been absorbed and no vegetable life could exist. Or if our atmosphere had been thinner, some of the meteors, now burned in space by the million every day would be striking all parts of the earth, starting fires everywhere.
Because of these, and host of other examples, there is not one chance in millions that life on our planet is an accident.
The following incident is mentioned in Surah Feel of the Holy Quran and it happened during the period of the birth-year of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). Abraha Al-Ashram was the governor of Yemen on behalf of the king of Ethiopia. He (Abrahah) thought to build a house (like the Kabah at Makkah) in Sana (the capital of Yemen) and call the Arabs to perform the pilgrimage there in Sana instead of the Kabah in Makkah, with the intention of diverting the trade and benefits from Makkah to Yemen. He presented his idea to the king of Ethiopia who agreed to it. So the house (church) was built and he named it Al-Qullais; there was no church of its like at that time. Then a man from the Quraish tribe of Makkah came there and was infuriated by it, so he relieved his nature (stools and urine) in it, soiled its walls and went away. When Abrahah Al-Ashram saw that, he could not control his anger and raised an army to invade Makkah and demolish the Kabah. He had in that army thirteen elephants and amongst them was an elephant called Mahmud which was the biggest of them. So that army proceeded and none amongst the Arab tribes that faced them (fought against them) but was killed and defeated, till it approached near Makkah. Then there took place negotiations between Abrahah Al-Ashram and the chief of Makkah (Abdul Muttalib bin Hashim, the grandfather of the Prophet), and it was concluded that Abrahah would restore the camels of Abdul Muttalib which he had taken away, and then he (Abrahah) would decide himself as regards the Kabah. Abdul Muttalib ordered the men of Makkah to evacuate the city and go to the top of the mountains along with their wives and children in case some harm should come to them from the invading oppressors. Then that army moved towards Makkah till they reached valley Muhassir. While the army was marching towards Makkah, in the middle of the valley, suddenly it was overtaken by flocks of birds, flocks after flocks, air-raiding that army with small stones slightly bigger than a lentil seed. There never fell a stone on a soldier except it dissolved his flesh and burst it into pieces. So they perished with a total destruction. Abrahah Al-Ashram fled away while his flesh was bursting into pieces till he died on the way (back to Yemen). Such was the victory bestowed by Allah, (the All-Majestic, All-Powerful) to the people of Makkah and such was the protection provided by Him for His House (Kabah in Makkah).

Some people say that all actions that were not present at the time of the Prophet or the sahaba are bid'at (innovations leading to hell). This saying of theirs is logically flawed because if all new practices were bid'at, then how would the 21st century Muslim live their life? It is impossible. The Prophet (saw) did say that innovations are misguidance but the word (Kul) which is used in this hadith can, according to grammarians, mean `most' as well as `all'. Imam Shafi'i was asked what `Kul' meant in this hadith, he replied that `Kul' meant `most'. If the Prophet (saw) had meant that all new acts are bad, then why did he say in another hadith that "Whoever initiates a good practice in Islam and then acted upon it, he will be rewarded for it" (Muslim)?
When tatbeeq (reconciliation) is done with these two ahadith, it is found that the hadith where Prophet (saw) said new acts are misguidance actually means that most new acts are misguidance because the second hadith tells us that new practices can be good. So he who says all new actions are bad, he has not read the ahadith properly or he hasn't read them at all.
In Islam, all acts and rituals are permitted unless Allah has forbidden them. This is because Allah does not want to burden the ummah as he is Rahman and Raheem. To prove this, we will read the Qur'an. Allah says "Oh you who believe! Ask not about things, which if made plain to you, may cause you trouble. If you ask about them while the Qur'an is being revealed, they will be made plain to you" (5:101). This verse tells us that those actions about which the Qur'an is silent, they should not become a subject of useless questioning. Allah's silence is a mercy. If Allah has not prohibited it, then it is permissible for us.
Allah also says "Those who believe and do righteous deeds, there is no sin on them for what they ate (in the past)" (5:93). Again, we are made aware that until revelation deems something haram, it is allowed. Before the Qur'an forbade alcohol, it was not just allowed but was consumed by the Muslims but, as soon as Allah forbade it, its consumption became haram. This is the case for any other act. Until it is prohibited, it is allowed.
Allah further says "Say, I find not in that which has been revealed to me anything forbidden to be eaten unless it be a dead animal or blood poured forth or the swine" (6:145). Once again, the Qur'an is showing us that all things are allowed except for what is forbidden. Hence, to say that something is haram without it being deemed as haram is wrong. Sayyadina Abdullah ibn Abbas said that "Whatever the Qur'an termed as halal is halal and whatever it deemed haram is haram and about which it remained silent, this is forgiven" (Abu Dawud Vol 2). Shah Abdul Haq Dehlwi, pioneer of the science of hadith in the subcontinent, says in relation to the above hadith that "The reason why ibn Abbas recited this was to let it be known that something can only become haram by way of revelation and it was not permitted to make anything haram through ones own desires" (Ash'atul Lum'aat Vol 3).
Therefore, to say that anything is haram without there being revelation about it is incorrect in itself. Allah also says "Who has forbidden the adornment with clothes given by Allah which he has produced for His slaves and the pure foods? (7:32). This verse again reveals that no person today has the right to declare a pure item haram. Prohibition is only proven through revelation.
Those who continue to say that acts which the Prophet (saw) did'nt perform are haram, then Allah announces "Say, bring forward your witnesses who can testify that Allah has forbidden this" (6:150). This verse clearly proves that everything is in essence permissible. Only those things are haram which Allah or the Prophet (saw) decree as haram. If everything had in essence been haram, Allah would never challenge people to bring evidence against certain items.
Therefore, dear Muslims, acts such as celebrating Meelad-un-Nabi, organising gatherings to remember the Mi'raj-un-Nabi (ascension), performing Giyarhwin Sharif for Sayyadina Ghaus-ul-Azam, gathering in Muharram to remember Imam Hussain, gathering on the 15th Sha'ban, khatam sharif (sending reward for the dead) in any form are all permissible acts. The Prophet (saw) or the sahaba may not have performed these acts in the same way as we do today but deeds that are performed on the aforementioned occasions are all from the Qur'an and the Sunnah of our dear Prophet Master Muhammad (saw). As verse 6:150 of the Qur'an pleads "bring forward your witnesses who can testify that Allah has forbidden this". Can those people who say that Meelad-un-Nabi celebrations are forbidden provide us with even one speck of proof that Allah has forbidden it? They cannot! So, according to Qur'anic and Prophetic teachings, the Meelad-un-Nabi and other such actions are totally permissible in Islam and those who object to them are certainly astray.
Meelad-un-Nabi is not just permissible, according to Imam Ahmad ibn Hanbal, the day on which the Prophet (saw) was born is even better than Lailat-ul-Qadr. So, it would be correct to conclude, as many scholars have done, that Meelad-un-Nabi is a very rewardable act and Muslims should definitely take part in it. To conclude : If an act is not found in shari'ah, then it cannot be called a forbidden act until proof is found against it. If the Qur'an and ahadith support a certain practice, then this practice can be performed in any way one wishes as long as the chosen method does not contravene any Islamic law.

My heart will glow through my love for the Prophet
Lahad mein ishq rukhe shah ka daagh le ke chale
1. My heart will glow through my love for the Prophet’s unique station;
Having heard that the night is dark, I am carrying this lamp for illumination.
2. O Prophet! The footprints of your servants are the surest guide to Allah--consciousness;
Those, who follow their example, are destined to achieve supreme spiritual success.
3. The graves of the lovers of your four Companions will become the bowers of Paradise: Those, who carry four gardens in their hearts, will certainly be made flowers of Paradise.
4. They went, paid their homage to your grave and came back with pangs of separation; Though the tears have dried in their eyes, their hearts are still full of admiration.
5. Some Paradise-mad people have degraded themselves to the level of rooks;
They should know that Medinah, the radiant, is the very essence of Paradise--brooks.
6. The cloud of your conversation possesses neither moisture nor texture;
An eloquent person has to bring his own eloquence to create literary pleasure.
7. Is there anything more significant than praising Allah's Messenger?
Obviously, you are pretending to run away under a deceptive cover.
8. O Prophet! Your elegance and grace have been upheld by the Creator.
Even Jibreel cannot dare to understate the excellence of your splendour.
9. I have no complaint against Satan's disciple about his arrogance;
He is unashamedly holding high his master's banner of insolence.
10. Every descendant praises the traits of the character of his ancestor;
Every Cup-bearer's son proudly passes round the tavern the cup of his father.
11. Who is this insolent man, who calls Allah "a liar"? What a sinister blame!
Whose ignoble mission is he propagating against Allah ?What a shame!
12. The occurrence of "a lie" and the absolute Truth of Allah are incompatible:
Such a point of view is plainly ignorant idiotic and horrible.
13. Is there any heretic such an evil- minded heretic and a traitor;
Who can bring a stupid and impossible blame of "a lie" against his Creator.
14. The blind man has developed the habit of using only the soup (not the meat);
He fell for a crow because he could not obtain a quail to eat.
15. A vicious woman is for a vicious man and a vicious man for a vicious woman;
Birds of a feather flock together; an eagle is for a eagle and a raven for a raven.
16. It is the same for them, who have jettisoned their faith to the crows;
Whether these birds were born in the wild forests or in the garden hedgerows.
17. O Raza! Have you ever kissed the feet of any dog in the Prophet's city?
As a loyal servant you should have known better and shown more humility.
Narrated Abu Dhar: Allah's Apostle said, "While I was at Mecca the roof of my house was opened and Gabriel descended, opened my chest, and washed it with Zam-zam water. Then he brought a golden tray full of wisdom and faith and having poured its contents into my chest, he closed it. Then he took my hand and ascended with me to the nearest heaven, when I reached the nearest heaven, Gabriel said to the gatekeeper of the heaven, 'Open (the gate).' The gatekeeper asked, 'Who is it?' Gabriel answered: 'Gabriel.' He asked, 'Is there anyone with you?' Gabriel replied, 'Yes, Muhammad I is with me.' He asked, 'Has he been called?' Gabriel said, 'Yes.' So the gate was opened and we went over the nearest heaven and there we saw a man sitting with some people on his right and some on his left. When he looked towards his right, he laughed and when he looked toward his left he wept. Then he said, 'Welcome! O pious Prophet and pious son.' I asked Gabriel, 'Who is he?' He replied, 'He is Adam and the people on his right and left are the souls of his offspring. Those on his right are the people of Paradise and those on his left are the people of Hell and when he looks towards his right he laughs and when he looks towards his left he weeps.' Then he ascended with me till he reached the second heaven and he (Gabriel) said to its gatekeeper, 'Open (the gate).' The gatekeeper said to him the same as the gatekeeper of the first heaven had said and he opened the gate. Anas said: "Abu Dhar added that the Prophet met Adam, Idris, Moses, Jesus and Abraham, he (Abu Dhar) did not mention on which heaven they were but he mentioned that he (the Prophet ) met Adarn on the nearest heaven and Abraham on the sixth heaven. Anas said, "When Gabriel along with the Prophet passed by Idris, the latter said, 'Welcome! O pious Prophet and pious brother.' The Prophet asked, 'Who is he?' Gabriel replied, 'He is Idris." The Prophet added, "I passed by Moses and he said, 'Welcome! O pious Prophet and pious brother.' I asked Gabriel, 'Who is he?' Gabriel replied, 'He is Moses.' Then I passed by Jesus and he said, 'Welcome! O pious brother and pious Prophet.' I asked, 'Who is he?' Gabriel replied, 'He is Jesus. Then I passed by Abraham and he said, 'Welcome! O pious Prophet and pious son.' I asked Gabriel, 'Who is he?' Gabriel replied, 'He is Abraham. The Prophet added, 'Then Gabriel ascended with me to a place where I heard the creaking of the pens." Ibn Hazm and Anas bin Malik said: The Prophet said, "Then Allah enjoined fifty prayers on my followers when I returned with this order of Allah, I passed by Moses who asked me, 'What has Allah enjoined on your followers?' I replied, 'He has enjoined fifty prayers on them.' Moses said, 'Go back to your Lord (and appeal for reduction) for your followers will not be able to bear it.' (So I went back to Allah and requested for reduction) and He reduced it to half. When I passed by Moses again and informed him about it, he said, 'Go back to your Lord as your followers will not be able to bear it.' So I returned to Allah and requested for further reduction and half of it was reduced. I again passed by Moses and he said to me: 'Return to your Lord, for your followers will not be able to bear it. So I returned to Allah and He said, 'These are five prayers and they are all (equal to) fifty (in reward) for My Word does not change.' I returned to Moses and he told me to go back once again. I replied, 'Now I feel shy of asking my Lord again.' Then Gabriel took me till we '' reached Sidrat-il-Muntaha (Lote tree of; the utmost boundry) which was shrouded in colors, indescribable. Then I was admitted into Paradise where I found small (tents or) walls (made) of pearls and its earth was of musk."
Junaid Baghdadi and Love for Allah
Once at the time of Hajj, there was a gathering in Mecca of some friends of Allah; the youngest among whom was Junaid Baghdadi (ra). In that gathering, there was a discussion on the subject of 'Love for Allah' and as to who is the lover of Allah. Many of them expressed their views on the subject, but Junaid (ra) kept quiet. He was pressed to say something.
With his head bowed down and tears in his eyes, he said, "The lover of Allah is he who forgets his own self, remains engaged in Allah's remembrance with due regard to all its requirements; sees Allah with the eyes of his heart, which is burnt by the heat of Allah's fear; Allah's remembrance affects him like a cup of wine, he speaks the word of Allah as if All-Mighty Allah speaks through his mouth; if he moves, he does so under the command of Allah; he gets peace of mind only through the obedience of Allah; and when such a stage is reached, his eating, drinking, sleeping, awakening and, in short, all his actions are for the pleasure of Allah; he neither pays heed to the worldly customs, nor does he attach any importance to unfriendly criticism by people."
Auf bin Malik (R.A.) says: I came to Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam) while he was in his skin tent during the Tabuk expedition. He said to me, "Count six things before the advent of Qiyamah:
When passing through a mountain pass, a bedouin (villager) once came across an old man who was blind and who seemed to be afflicted with various ailments all over his body. It was clear that he was wasting away. He was even paralyzed and was constantly forced to remain in a seated position. The Bedouin could clearly hear him say, "All praise is for Allah, Who has kept me safe from ailments with which He has tested many among His creation; and He has indeed preferred me over many among those that He created."
"My brother!" exclaimed the bedouin. "What have you been saved from? By Allah, I think that you have been afflicted with every single kind of ailment!"
"Go away from me," said the old man, as he raised his head. "Do I not still have a tongue with which I can pronounce His Oneness, and with which I can remember Him every single moment? And do I not still have a heart with which I can know Him?"
These words of the old man were enough for the bedouin to repent to Allah for his sins and ask Him for forgiveness.
Remember, there is always someone else who is in more problem than you.
Muslims represent one-fifth of humanity. Many Americans are unaware of this simple fact. But there is another statistic of which most Americans are also unaware: More than one fifth of all "slaves" brought to these shores during the horrific period of transatlantic slave trading were also people of the Islamic faith.
While this has been known by some in the African-American community for many decades, little serious academic research was done on the subject until recently. Alan Austin, a retired professor of history from Massachusetts, did much of the original research that culminated in his book "African Muslims in Antebellum America: Transatlantic Stories and Spiritual Struggles." Since then, many other prominent researchers have expanded on his groundbreaking research.
Despite the sound basis of his work, Austin's research was largely ignored in the academic community. Sylviane Diouf's book -- "Servants of Allah: African Muslims Enslaved in the Americas" -- is another well-written, academic work now in it its second printing, but it too has not received the attention it deserves.
Those who want more information on this subject will find the information fascinating. Many of these Muslims were highly educated in their African homeland, and they considered America to be barbaric compared to their own civilized communities in Africa.
The stories of these people are moving, to say the least. Some, in fact, sound like ready-made screenplays for a Hollywood film. One is that of Prince Abdar Rahman, who was born a prince in his homeland of Mali and, because of his aristocratic breeding, intimidated many of the Southern whites who crossed his path. Some of these men became lecturers and toured the country giving speeches about their lives and experiences, and some even made it back to their homelands through diplomatic and business ties.
These stories should be written in every textbook of American history. Americans should realize that Islam is not an alien faith new to this land but has been here from the first arrivals of Europeans to these shores, and perhaps even before that.
This information is a powerful tool that can be used to dispel false beliefs about the ignorance of Africans and their lack of culture and civilization. It can enable young people as well as old to see the rich tapestry that makes up the continent of Africa and how much of that richness came to and embellished these shores.
Surely, we owe it to the men and women who suffered so greatly to at least find out who they were and to read and hear about the powerful responses they gave to the awesome tribulations and hardships they faced.
